SMI Sponsors Clean Water Project in Bangladesh
In December of 2014 SMI made a significant donation to charity: water, an organization dedicated to providing clean drinking water to people in need around the world. It’s recently been announced that 100% of that donation has been used to help a community in Bangladesh.
With SMI’s donation, charity: water and BRAC, an international development organization based in Bangladesh, have been able to provide clean and safe drinking water, promote better school sanitation, and improve hygiene education for a developing community.
SMI realizes that their industry relies heavily on water, and has decided to commit a portion of their resources to promoting responsible and sustainable water usage. SMI Co-founder and CFO Robyn Butler, said, “We want to minimize our eco-footprint by contributing to the research and implementation of getting water to people in need.” Throughout 2014 SMI has sponsored charity: water projects and other initiatives to help meet these ecological and social goals.
